An urbane fox cannot resist returning to his farm raiding ways and then must help his community survive the farmers’ retaliation.
I remember taking my younger siblings to see this movie in theaters and crying because of laughter. I adore Wes Anderson films (I’ve seen them all, no joke.) His directing/writing skills are tremendously witty and lovely. Almost like Woody Allen, he takes on serious matters in a lighthearted way, but still makes a point. Mr. Fox was voiced by George Clooney, who did a lovely job of convincing the audience that he was, as clever as a fox. Anderson’s other friends were casted as voices in the movies, like Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, and Anderson’s brother Eric Anderson. This was Anderson’s first stop motion animation film, and it had a combination of textures and 2D settings that involve such incredible detail, the animators for this film did such a spectacular job. The film is vastly underappreciated in mainstream film today, in my humble opinion. I highly suggest Fantastic Mr. Fox as well as any other Wes Anderson film!
